Director's Cut

Here are some word's from the directors at Future Water about the project.

“It's a project that we can't wait to get started on...”

John Dielhof Future Water Director

It's a project that we can't wait to get started on because we know how much of a positive impact it will have on the region. The scheme will safeguard dozens of jobs for our skilled workforce, as well as create opportunities for apprentices and trainees to kickstart their civil engineering career with us. In addition, we are eager to see the impact this has on the local economy, through supply chain opportunities and spend in the local area.

“A decade-long programme of reservoirs to increase England’s resilience”

Ben Hamer Future Water Director
and Mackley Managing Director

The Future Water JV brings together the earthworks capability of Jones Bros and Mackley’s civil and MEICA experience to deliver this reservoir and water treatment project, which sits in the vanguard of a decade-long programme of reservoirs to increase England’s resilience to water scarcity, climate change and population growth.

“It's a great privilege to be a part of the project team.”

Terry Fuller Future Water Project Engagement and
Sustainability Director

It’s a great privilege to be a part of the project team. Havant Thicket is the first reservoir of scale in a generation and it feels like we are trail blazing as a team. We are protecting valuable chalk streams, increasing biodiversity, creating a beautiful place for people and helping to address water scarcity. Great reasons to come in to work in the morning.

“It's an honour to be leading a highly skilled Future Water JV team”

Geraint Thomas Future Water Director and Jones Bros Contract Director

Havant Thicket Reservoir is the first of its kind since the 1980s, so to be able to work on this flagship development is something to be proud of and, once complete, something to reflect on with a great deal of satisfaction. “It's an honour to be leading a highly skilled Future Water JV team that is steeped in experience, and which perfectly unites the earthworks proficiency of Jones Bros and the civil and MEICA expertise of Mackley.“This project will not just help increase England's resilience to water scarcity, climate change, and population growth, but provide our workforce, including trainees and apprentices, with the skills to deliver future water schemes with enhanced effectiveness.

“It's been fantastic to watch the collaboration between Jones Bros and Mackley grow”

Geraint Lloyd Deputy Project Director

Being involved in the Havant Thicket Reservoir project from the very beginning, it's been fantastic to watch the collaboration between Jones Bros and Mackley grow from strength to strength. By combining our skills, experience, and technical expertise, we've built a robust foundation of knowledge that can be drawn upon at any time. This is a landmark project to be part of, and I know both Jones Bros and Mackley are fully committed and excited for the work that lies ahead.
